Flower Bloomed In My Heart, completed in 2011, is a striking floral work by Yayoi Kusama. A single blossoming flower rises at the centre of the frame, with radiating petal‑like forms and slender stem entirely covered in orderly polka dots. The surrounding background is filled with her characteristic tangled infinity‑net linework. Realistic botanical detail, natural shadows and sculptural volume are completely discarded. The composition becomes a hypnotic graphic field built on endless repeating circular patterns, conveying a powerful inner vision of blooming life.
Bold Multi‑Colour Screenprint Palette
As a signed screenprint, this artwork employs rich, saturated multiple‑colour blocks with crisp, sharp edges. There are no soft gradients or blended shadow transitions. Vivid contrasting hues define the flower, stem and patterned background. Screenprinting delivers clean, consistent dot shapes and fine interlaced net lines. This colourful floral piece represents Kusama’s mature 2010s graphic language, merging her well‑known dot vocabulary with expressive nature‑themed imagery.
Hand‑Painted Interpretation Focus
This hand‑painted interpretation is not one of the original limited signed screenprints from the edition of 30. Our painters faithfully recreate the flower silhouette, consistent dot sizing and continuous infinity‑net lines. We preserve the flat graphic quality of screenprinting and avoid adding painterly shadows, highlights or blurred brush transitions that would alter the original print aesthetic. Minor subtle variations in dot placement naturally occur in hand‑painted work and distinguish it from mechanical reproductions.
Display Suggestions
This eye‑catching floral graphic artwork works wonderfully for pop‑art, contemporary, maximalist and gallery‑grid interiors. Off‑white, cream or light grey neutral walls balance its multi‑coloured palette without visual competition. Soft diffused ambient lighting is recommended; harsh directional spotlights may create glare and obscure fine details within the infinity‑net pattern. Confirm your wall dimensions before selecting your final display size. (Word count: 384)
