Your canvas is a physical paint surface. Handle it gently, give it a stable display environment and ask for advice before attempting any cleaning or treatment.
Handle the edges
Avoid pressing or touching the painted surface. For a rolled work, ask a professional framer to unroll and stretch it using the agreed margins.
Choose a stable location
Keep the painting away from direct sunlight, heaters, damp walls, steam and rapid changes in temperature.
Clean with restraint
Do not apply water, household cleaners or solvents to the paint. Seek professional advice if dust, marks or damage need attention.
Wait before treatment
Do not varnish, recoat or wrap a paint surface tightly without checking its condition and drying requirements with the studio.
Keep your order record
Save the dimensions, finish details and finished photographs. They help if you later need framing or condition advice.
