De Tio Största, n°10 Alderdomen (The Ten Largest, No.10, Old Age), completed in 1907, serves as the grand finale of Hilma af Klint’s landmark The Ten Largest series. The cycle traces the soul’s passage through all phases of life, and this tenth panel embodies Alderdomen, old age. Rather than showing an elderly figure, the painting uses biomorphic forms, circular symbols and balanced colour fields to express maturity, wisdom, release and spiritual fulfilment. Created for her envisioned spiritual temple, this panel brings the whole life sequence to a serene conclusion.
