Painted around 1914, Landscape Near Ampurdan (Paisaje cerca de Ampurdán) belongs to the earliest formative years of Salvador Dalí. Created when he was just ten years old in his native Catalonia, this piece captures the expansive, sunlit countryside of Empordà—a region whose dramatic light, rocky coastlines, and rolling plains would remain the lifelong visual backdrop for his art. Heavily influenced by French Impressionism and local Catalan painters like Ramón Pichot, the young Dalí employed a rich, textured impasto palette of ochres, earthy greens, and soft atmospheric blues. This early masterpiece offers art lovers a rare glimpse into Dalí’s prodigious natural talent decades before the birth of his iconic Surrealist visions.
Studio Craftsmanship & Quality Highlights

100% Hand-Painted Execution: Meticulously hand-crafted layer by layer by experienced studio artists, faithful to the expressive impasto textures, flickering sunlight effects, and painterly brushstrokes of Dalí’s early impressionist studies.
-
Archival-Grade Materials: Rendered on heavy-weight, high-density pure linen canvas using professional-grade oil pigments to guarantee resistance against fading, yellowing, and environmental degradation over time.
-
Warm Mediterranean Tonal Precision: Accurately reproduces the subtle interplay of light and shade across the Empordà plain, honoring the astonishing maturity of the artist’s childhood works.
